Hello...BABY IM A STAR and SSHHH, they have always been OVERBLOWN VEGASy type numbers . so have all of his performances as of late. s'whatchoo sayin? Vegas-y--bullshit! That performance was not "vegas-y" at all... I've never heard a vegas gig as funky/soulful as the groove of Shhh. Blackwell's drumming and Rhonda's bass playing were superb as usual. R.A.D., Renato and Chance held the keyboards down, can someone say Hammond Organ!!! Furthermore, the addition of R.A.D. has really improved the background vocals, while Prince's laid back vocals were effective and soulful. Prince's guitar solos on Shhh were tight as well, especially the closer. This band is tight and their performance of Shhh is one of the best I've seen. I don't know, maybe I have the wrong impression of vegas type shows because Prince's performance was far from it! ve...gas. Are you a moderator or an orger? Don't tell me that it's not inflamatory when someone writes a message like that to explain their opinion and you knock them down with a short response like that. Nothing overtly rude about it but annoying all the same. Guess it gives u something to do, but surely the moderators aren't supposed to rile the site members.

Prince was the best damn thing about the whole televised event. No one else held a candle to his performance. I've seen much better Santana, Michele Branch was corny and The Rolling Stones looked like they needed to be rolled off stage. Maybe Craig David wasn't so bad. But none of these artist came close to Prince's set.
I've finally realized that Writing critics know the average person doesn't give damn about some writers opinon in some paper or magazine. So now they come to the artist sites and pose as fans and dump their reviews right on the artist web sites. Cool new trick. But it won't work on me. I have a great number of bootlegs, all of the live stuff I can get my hands on and that was still a great performace by the man every artist is trying to imitate. (Yeah I said it!!) | |
