I've read that Apples was brought in as her replacement. What happened?

Did she find GOD?
Did she find a Motown contract in her mailbox?
Did Prince piss her off...
was he screwing around with Susannah behind her back or did this affair come later?

Vanity simply couldn't hack 'Purple Rain'. She was using drugs and couldn't deal with the long hours they were required to keep. The shooting schedule for was like boot camp. Cast members hat to be on set at 5:00 IN THE A.M.

Being facetious aside, I'd prefer to see the music that would be produced from Prince hang with George Clinton and taking a few bong hits than I would from him hanging with Larry in is bible cult.

"Only weeks before the shooting of Purple Rain began, Vanity suddenly decided to quit the movie and Vanity 6. At the time, several explanations for her sudden departure were given. There were rumors that she was asking for too much money, or that she had broken up from a relationship with Prince. Vanity explained her reasons in later interviews:

'I knew Purple Rain was going to be big, so therefore it would have made Vanity 6 very big. And then it would've been very tacky to leave after that. I wanted a solo career and I wanted to do it now. I didn't want to stall.'
