Devil's Advocate I was thinking (can you hear the cogs?)
Maybe Prince is just pissed at people who steal his unreleased music, and record his live shows without his consent, and make money out of them. All these tracks are out there now, so nothing can be done about that, what's done is done. Maybe he accepts the fact that fans wanna hear as much as possible of their favourite artists - and since the stuff is out there, if we are gonna listen to it, maybe he would rather turn a blind eye to fans trading these songs that have got out in the past, as long as no money is exchanged and no profit is gained. I'm playing Devil's Advocate here, I know what he does he does for his own benefit, nothing to do with the fans, but is he really that mean spirited that he would attempt to close down fan sites that talk about unreleased music? I bet if guide2prince.org just documented the songs and shows, and not what actual CDs to find them on, he wouldn't have a leg to stand on, and wouldn't even bother trying to shut them down (after the Uptown thing, where they can talk about unreleased music, but not the bootlegs that they can be found on). I'm on the side of guide2prince.org - but I can also look at it from the opposite side of the arguement. //- [This message was edited Tue Jan 20 17:28:00 PST 2004 by Romance1600] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

i honestly believed that some of that bootlegg that was floating around came directly from the man himself. i truly felt that he was behind it.

How is what he is doing benefiting himself? You are not my "friend" because you threaten my security. | |
