Madrid 2 Chicago

Any ideas/suggestions for what was on this album? I'm listening to Madrid 2 Chicago and Breathe now (along with the other January 2002 downloads), and I'm curious. It was a prince album. Thoughts, anyone?

It sound like an album he recorded shortly after
"Emancipation" and "The Truth".

"What Should B Souled" might have been on there
as well since it was mentioned in the same days
as "Madrid 2 Chicago".

Probably a project he shelved when New Power Soul
popped up in his head.

God only knows why smile

He probably felt like tightening his band and get
Larry and Chakah and Doug and all involved to cut
a record and take m all out on the road to have a
bit of fun.

That being, instead of cutting another solo effort
and tour that.

I don't know, I would have been very interested in
the transitional o(+> album to span the gap between
"The Truth" and "Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic".

I'm sure he recorded one hell of a lot of tracks in
between early 1997 and summer 1999 when he started
work on Rave.

"Madrid 2 Chicago" being only one of them.

Nobody knows what the tracklisting for 'Madrid 2 Chicago'
was (apart from Prince of course). The only confirmed tracks
are 'Madrid 2 Chicago' and 'Breathe'. From what I've heard
the whole album was made of laid back tracks (much like the
2 confirmed ones), and it was based on the old 'vinyl' album
format (i.e. about 10 tracks, and only 30-45 minutes long).

Thanks Boris. It's always great hearing from you, because I know you're reliable. I knew they were the only confirmed tracks, but I didn't know about the 'vinyl' length - info like that all adds to the 'feel' of the album.

I'm wondering if anyone knows of other laid-back tracks from the time that may have, at one point, been considered for M2C?
