Prince is not such a private person anymore, is he? I mean, in recent times I think he's been more open by ging more interviews and doing more shows and stuff like that. I could be wrong though. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE. | |

It really depends how you define 'private' and what time periods you are comparing (years? decades?)
I'm not sure that the number of interviews and shows that he has performed recently are a reflection of his becoming a less private person. He doesn't do that many interviews, and he had given many more in support of other projects / tours in the past than he gave for the 'One Nite Alone' tour. Most recent interviews reported in print (newspapers, magazines) appear to have been given under controlled conditions (basically press release feeds, written answers to selected questions, journalists refused use of means to record Prince's words first-hand) and he rarely reveals anything that you might describe as 'personal'. As for the number of performances he has been giving, the ONA tour was a sizeable one, but there were larger and longer tours in the 80's and 90's. Over the years, the aftershow performances have become less secret and more accessible to his fans. My impression is that he has generally become more 'open': examples that might be cited are: - opening up Paisley Park in the '90s for parties - greater access to soundchecks - his attendance at the 2002 Rainbow Children Celebration discussions - recent 'meet and greet' in Australia, etc. But, understandably, he also continues to want to keep his private life just that - private.
