Another site just bit the dust, smallclub.org

smallclub has recently been contacted by the law firm representing P and his music club. As a result, this site has been temporarily closed.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

The best feature of this site was the voting feature for the boots from each tour. Prince has apparantly declared another war.

Maybe 2004 will be a big year...for both good and bad reasons...

What a joke...well, he has lost some revenue from me, cuz I ain't going to go see him if he comes to Atlanta to tour and I sure ain't gonna sign up for the NPGMC this year. I don't think my few dollars will matter to him, considering he's a multi-millionaire, but I'm not going to continue to give him money to pay his lawyers with.

It just sounds like Prince may need some "tough love" from his fans.

This has probably been asked before, but could prince.org and housequake potentially face these same orders?

most likely no--both sites do allow talk of bootlegged material, but we also have strict policies in place about folks not requesting/selling stuff. plus, we're both fan communities and not bootlegg outlets/info sites.

I never knew prince was a contortionist - capable of burying his head so far up his ass.

This is what is crazy tho. Why should a site get shut down for simply talking about the existence of bootlegs?

If I make a site about the Holocaust, it doesnt mean I'm Hitler. It's information and discussion. It's your right to free speech.

Anxiety

If a site were to serve the same purpose as the sites that have been shut down, only without using graphics that in any way depict Prince and perhaps even using a different name when mentioning him "Purple" or "Nelson" or "Skipper" or somesuch - would there be any shred of justification in NPG going after it?

I guess this is a moot point, because someone could start a site about coleslaw and if NPG wanted it shut down, you'd either have to have the cash for lawyers or else you'd have to take the path of least resistance or else face the poorhouse.

LAME.

I'm going to check and see if www.princebootlegsmakemehot.org is an available domain name, and if it is, I want y'all to send me photos of yourselves posing in provocative positions whilst holding a copy of your favorite Prince bootleg.

BUT DON'T SEND ME ANY PHOTOS YET.

Unless, you know, you just want to. big grin

doesnt the fact that 2 sites have been shut down in the past week make you think something is going on? like a bit of activity before something big? im not saying its going to be music, or anything, or anything even good. but still. the most interesting thing about it is that its all coming at once, at the start of this supposed "big" year for prince

There's nothing big going on. This is an annual event with Prince.
