Has Prince covered every music Genre??????

Prince rocks!!! headbang

If U didn't know that then where have U been livin' hmm

Prince is the most amazing live performer the world has ever known, his voice alone would've made him a legend but 2 add 2 all that he plays intruments galore, dances like there is no next week and has talents in one man that would usually be attributed to 50.
Maybe his music can't be catergorised but if we had 2 dice it up

How many musical genre's has prince covered-

I count 4

Rock-lets go crazy, bambi etc
RnB-Adore
Reggae-Blue Light
Town and country-Basically the whole of the Prince 79' album
(I'd say opera on 3 chains of gold but that's a blatant Bohemian Rhapsody rip off)

Well maybe a little opera in the title song on 4U :hmm2

Haha Wow is this the same person who in 2 threads could do nothing but preach about how Prince is just so embarrassing 2 U?

When did U get this fresh take on life? I could swear its night/day ala a split personality even. I'm beside myself how far U seemed 2 have come in so little time. Without a 12-step program even.

I'm here 2 say I'm proud of U. If U need added support I'm here 4 U truly. The fact U liked my handbags delighted my soul. I'm rocking this peach one U'd die 4...it goes perfect with my peach & black outffit.

Oh 2 your simple question...no he hasn't. Yount~ Yount~

No he hasn't.

Prince can do a couple of genres adequately. The rest he has a very poor feel for.

Thing is, I always take Prince's music as an entity unto itself, almost like a separate genre.

When he funks, it's not just like funk.
When he rocks, it's not just like rock.
When he does pop, it's not just like pop.

I don't think he has a very good grasp of House music, although I see he has tried from time to time.

"7" leaned slightly towards Middle Eastern Music with a sitar sound. Around the world in a day also 'hinted' at Indian music. He's never gone totally Bollywood on us yet though. Maybe he should try it.

2-step? Uh, 2-tone was probably what you're implying. And I heave yet to hear a Prince song with a ska sound to it. 2-Step is that British garage/soul/dance thing.

Oh yeah, I haven't heard Prince do hardcore Punk or experimental indie rock.

I'd also like to hear my boy do some Dub/Reggae. You could light up a blunt and just vibe on some bass-heavy grooves. I wish Prince would attempt that.

clueless

I don't think it's so desirous to cover "every" music genre.

And I don't think his fans really want him to try and cover "every" music genre.

Do you realize how many genres there are? Probably not.

And believe it or not, every artist has limits, even "genius" has limits.

His range covers a lot of ground as it is.

And as I'm looking thru this thread it proves to me that some Prince fans seem to be surface listeners, because they're missing some of what's already there...

PRINCE SHOULD OF CARRIED ON WITH HIS SWAY 2 HEAVY ROCK/METAL COS BAMBI, ROCK HARD IN A FUNKY PLACE AND PUSSY CONTROL ALL WERE AMAZING :HMM:

SOLO IS HIS ATTEMPT AT EASY LISTENING AND IT SUCKED

PRINCE IS BEST WHEN HE IS PRINCE-A CLASSIC LIKE INTERNATIONAL LOVER, VIKKI AWAITITING OR THE BALLAD OF DOROTHY PARKER SHOW THIS

PRINCE ALSO TRIED HIS HAND AT CALYPSO IN THE SONG 'TRUST' FROM THE BATMAN ALBUM..funny little tune innocent
