"LE GRIND" Discussion Thread A Go Go!!!!!!!

Alright Kiddos,

The song "Le Grind", right?

Questions that DEMAND answers:

1) Just what would the dance called "Le Grind" look like? He mentions doing it "up and down like a pony would", but that seems kinda awkward. Pony do move their HEADS up and down, but that's about it. Something tells me that Prince doesn't go to the zoo too often...

2) What is the meaning of the French lyrics in the song? Are they dirty? "Se Swa, le Chate," or something like that...

3) Has Prince ever performed "Le Grind" live? I can't remember ever hearing about it performed before??

You mean "Ce soir,.." and I can't get the rest. Try ponounciation 4 me, then I could tell you.

Ce Soir means 2nite, so there's a start.

hmmm I think P's saying "Ce soir, le chante" whcih means "Tonight, you sing"..."All night long"! headbang

Anyways, this song was the definition of Prince's late-80's brand of funk! He knew how to funk it up back in the day! guitar

Another reason that this is one of Shithead's best albums. Get it. Get it. Get it.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.
