prince: critic's darling in the eighties....nowhere to be seen since.

prince was the music critic's favourite artist of the eighties by far. since then nothing has made much of an impact, not even "the gold experience" which was his best nineties album.

The link doesn't really tell you anything much - the 'information' requires some context for it to be understood:

How was this list compiled? What was the question, if any, asked? Who was asked? When were they asked? Who asked the question and why?

true. radiohead is the only group to appear twice on either of the lists.

I dont know how REM managed to ascend in the ratings , the 90s, I am quite a fan of the band , but they have been in major decline starting with Out of Time. Sure, Losing My Religion is fine, the rest is trendy and junk, Automatic
4 the People was Pablum, Monster was a tad silly, HiFi was dull and they completely lost my interest when the drummer left, singles I have heard are astonishing bad. Any Rem fans here, agree, disagree? High point was Life's Rich Pageant, but you cannot lose with any of the early records and Document.
