And to think I used to take for granted going out to Paisley Park every friday/saturday, paying $7, and being amazed.I miss it...

Somebody who was there, can you explain how this all went down? Was there an announcement when they would happen and you just had to show up? How did it work?

i used to go fairly often. the NPGMC would post a notice on the day of the party or sometimes before.

i don't know for sure why he stopped playing at the park, or having parties. he stopped in january of 2002, more or less.

i do seem to remember him making some comment about 'pearls before swine' and i thought it had to do with the way people would go to his parties then complain about the fact that things didn't go the way they wanted them to go - i.e. prince didn't always feel like playing. then again p could have been referring to something entirely different.

it does seem like the fans have been banished from the paisley play land. but, the good news is that paisley park hosted an event for the JW congregation so at least it's not being wasted

Convert to the JWs and you might get to go there some time.
