prince on dance electric,what he did with the guitar?

how he produced that fast guitar line at the end.
it sounds like he played the guitar solo backwords?
what he did?

I'm sure the guitar was sped up (like he recorded it at a slower speed than the ultimate mix). What I've always loved and never understood was the ultra-static tone he got for that. It sounded like he was playing through radio static. Loved it.
