Prince should be more careful with his power of influence

Okay, how does that relate to the thesis, especially since Prince says he doesn't want to be worshipped? Looks to me then that the opposite of wat he says is being done...

thesis edit...

I don't believe responsibility is a burden Prince should bear. If somebody wishes to blindly follow what Prince says without using their own brain then that's neither Prince's fault or problem. None of his recent preaching has been destructive or too extreme, and any sane person can make his or her own mind about the relevance of that to their lives. If somebody swallows every word then they only have themselves to blame.

I think he doesnt care about his power of influence and just is trying to be himself. Its not his fault there are people who hang onto every little word he says and stuff. Thats just like the power of influence you and I may have over people right now and not know it...we are just being ourselves.

It is a responsibility that he should bear but it is also a responsibility that WE all share...Every word that any of us uses has the power to influence...I give Prince some credit because in his earlier years of recording things were pretty positive ie;accepting EVERYONE'S ideas and beliefs, when in private things were a little different with our Prince...He influenced me and many others on this board...I believe that I influence people everyday...Hopefully in a positive way...

The weak & limited of mind, R always destined 2 B suckas.

The problem lay with each of us. We will either see clearly or walk into walls with blinders on...

On the personal tip I ain't trying 2 bump my head if I could stop it "myself"...cuz "I'm accountable" not Prince.

Have sense enough 2 know Prince ain't got a gun 2 your head saying U will do as I say.

I have taken some of his lines literally...
example:

In Sexaulity he tells mothers not to let their babies watch tv until they can read otherwise...
He has a very valid point there. there are plenty of studies showing that tv/computer games are bad and children should have only limited exposure.

Loose-- "get your education versus buy a pair of shoes"
I went straight to college and didn't care about dressing to the 9's until i had the money.

Pussy Control- "Pussy got bank in her pockets before she got dick in her drawers, if brother didn't have good and plemty of his own..." Every little girl needs to adhere to this instead of fucking every guy that says I love u.

Enuff said.

Okay y'all. Some of you are saying that Prince bears no responsibility. Ultimately it's up to the listener how much he allows to be influenced.

I would partly agree with that, but not to the extent that he bares no responsibility at all.

Putting this more in a perspective of all of us being together we all shae a responsibility for our own and eachother's actions. This responsibility, I believe, is bigger for someone with more power of influence than the average Joe. Prince is such a person.

Further, Prince consciously reaches out to his audience with his words/ messages/ and sometimes actions as well. It's not like he himself doesn't have a choice as well to reach out or not. He wants to say what he is saying and do what he is doing. When he chooses to speak, or do something out he has the responsibility to choose/do/say "the right thing"... like we all have, no?

Furthermore, Prince KNOWS he has a bunch of fans who swallow his every word and follow his every move. He know not all his fans are levelheaded and independent enough to take his words with a grain of salt. This, primaraly, goes for the underaged fan, but also for the mature ones who still worship his every move and expression... Thus Prince has a certain amount of responsibility to try and make sure his words aren't by definition taken as "the truth".

Which could be kind of hard for the listener when Prince himself obviously is saying that he speaks the truth. Claiming you speak the truth leads, in my opinion, to baring more responsibility, i.e. more responsibility to make sure that you do no tell absolute lies, or nonsense as the truth.

Lastly, there is the law. Now, I am NOT saying Prince is breaking the law with his power of influence, but... the law on on hand states everyone is free to express his views and to a large extent act, but on the other this freedom is not unlimited. There are many reasons why it is not. Thus, everyone, including Prince needs to be carefull with what they say and do, how they say/do and to whom they say /do it, because you might break the law.

Anyone agrees, disagrees?
