When Santana did 'Supernatural', I thought about that.
I know Prince is capable of doing it. But at this point, who knows if he even wants it?

i think you guys are kidding yourselves. prince is never going o be a major player again. and whoever said "who knows if he even wants it?" is just putting up some cushion for the blow. prince wants popular success the way any business man wants it. why do you think he charges so much for merchandise, tickets, etc.? he is trying to make up for not being popular.

no, prince is not gonna blow up in 2004. i will give everyone here 5 dollars each if he does! the most he'll get is some kind of nostalgia throw back. but it won't amount to much.

Prince is a musical genius. He can do it he just has to want to. He seems to me to be on some experimental tip right now just doing what he feels. He ain't trying to make nothin for the radio. If he wanted to make a hit for the masses he could.

Prince "wanting" to be on the charts again has a lot to do with it. All he needs to do is whore himself to a major label. Look, we know how it works- any one can be a big star. Hell, American Idol shows you how the industry does it. They just take someone with a speck of talent and they turn them to gold. People are on the charts ,not because we want them there, but because the record labels want to sell them to us.

no one having heard musicology would think so!

(actually that may ultimately explain why may have given up his idea to release that video...)

i think the very best we could hope for is a platinum album worldwide, ie a million sales in US. 300k in UK. i think that would be a great year for him and see where he goes after that.

It's apparent he doesn't have the interest in becoming hugely popular again. He doesn't even promote himself or his website properly.
His most diehard fans don't know what the hell is coming next
(if anything) because he's so mysterious.
It's entirely up to him, but personally I don't see him doing
much to have his own fanbase embrace him, much less
the general public.

He has turned down numerous requests for his music to be sampled by a lot of the rappers. If he would allow that, I think he would blow up.

Prince might have to write some pop songs like those from the 84-87 period and we would much rather have the NEWS cd. I hardely listened to Purple Rain but have gone thru 5 copies of NEWS already! Its all a conspiracy WAKE UP!
