Romance 1600 or Glamorous Life?

Which do you perfer. My vote goes to ROmance 1600. I mean you have a Love Bizarre Dear Michaelangelo and Toy Box. Those 3 tracks alone puts it a notch above The Glamorous Life.

I get the biggest kick when she says " I can't go to the club without my jewels" That right there makes toy box!

'Romance 1600'.The last track "Bedtime Story" is just amazing.I love that note she hits during the final chorus...

"far away...I want to go and start my life all over
instead I'll stay...maybe I'll find a four-leaf clover
Stay with me...tell me a bedtime story
Stay with me...tell me a bedtiiimmme...story"

They're both not as good as 'Sheila E.' from '87 though!

I'm gonna have to second Dansa on this one. I can't pick one over the other, they're both equally great!

Glam Life. R1600 is a substandard album... A Love Bizarre is the only standout track.

With Glamorous Life, you have the title track, Oliver's House, Lipstick, Belle of St Mark..just a great album.

The Glamorous Life by far, the whole album is good. The only songs I like on 1600 are Love Bizarre, Yellow, and the title track.

For me, Romance 1600 edges out GL by just a tad. Love them both bunches.

Wow! This is an eye opening thread because I always thought it was no contest. In my mind 'The Glamorous Life' is heads and shoulders above 'Romance 1600'. There was just too much filler on that album in my mind.

Romance 1600 musically. Glam Life for "pop appeal". My fave of the 2 is Romance 1600 hands down.

I think 'The Glamorous Life' is a more cohesive and
consistant album, so as an album I'd have to go with that.
Romance 1600 does have some great tracks (some of which I
think are better than tracks on 'The Glamorous Life') but
overall I don't think it 'gels' together as an album as well.

On 'Romance 1600',you have the tracks...

"Toy Box" (which should have been the first single, imo)
"Dear Michaelangelo"
"A Love Bizarre"
"Bedtime Story"

That's four solid tunes right there. And who can resist a guilty pleasure like "Yellow"? wink

The lyrics are outrageous lol

really really hated my yellow pants
maybe it was the way they hugged my ass
but I was the one the fellas asked to dance"

LOL...that's a classic!
