I was listening to wherever U go, whatever U do the other day and my 3 year old son said "Bastian's song!" which he has said before about this song. I didn't know what he meant until I got the movie The Neverending Story from the library for him, and heard the them song again. These two songs DO sound similar, same kind of feel (not vocals or tune).

mmm...not really. "wherever u go..." sounds more...i dunno, la-la-esque than the theme to the neverending story.

Listening to the theme again, I think it's the tempo, bass line and the chord changes that I hear as similar, my kid reckons too. One song reminds you of the other, I guess, know what I mean?
