There's a second Prince fan in my house now, my seven year old niece. Her dad bought her a discman 4 christmas, she didn't have any CD's 2 listen 2 it, I decided 2 let her hear star fish and coffe for for the first time and every since then she's been trying to steal my Prince cd's. Every since then my CD's have been missing. When I look inside her discman, what do I find? Purple Rain, 1999 or even Parade. I have a billion cd's in my room from other artist, but she goes straight 2 the prince. I told her I don't mind her listening 2 them, just ask, because I be tripping when I look into my CD case and it's not there. I think it's cute though, she already has great taste in music. Y'all remember when that MJ specail came on? Both my nieces were arguing about who was better and my niece said she'd liked Prince better, cuz she thought he was cute. Now I'm thinking, oh lord what in the world are we gonna do, with 2 Prince fans in the house. I'm not gonna be fighting over my own cd's

U oughta burn her a really cool CD. oops, did I say that!!

She'll be safe. Girls mature a lot faster than boys plus I don't think you have to worry about her impressionable mind losing respect for Women like you would have to with a young lad.

That's funny.There are several Prince fans in my family so it's really funny to see the little nieces ,nephews,and cousins loving the Rave dvd and the Vegas dvd.Lol.My cousin is worried because his little 6 year old wants to be Prince!

Prince has awesome melodies and drum programming, which is what draws most listeners. I honestly wouldn't worry about subtle "innuendo" in the lyrics because most of the time kids don't even have the vocab and can't follow. If it's all and out cursing and "masturbating with a magazine" then maybe worry.

I have a cassette with me @ five years old being asked who my favorite singer is, and I said Prince. I loved "Let's Go Crazy" "When Doves Cry" "Raspberry Beret" and "Kiss".

You should make her some CD-r's of some of the big songs like that and leave off stuff like "Darling Nikki".
