In 92 I bought de interactive cd-rom and it was looking very good. But about a year ago I got a new computer with Windows XP home edition. You guessed it, it doesn't work anymore.

Does anybody know how I can play the Interactive cd-rom on a pc with Windows XP or is there maybe a patch that I can download or whatever so I can play it?

I hope anybody on this forum has an answer...

Actually the Interactive CD-Rom came out in June 1994, right at 's first birthday party. He had a 3-city simulcast at all of his Glam Slams -- Los Angeles, MPLS and Miami South Beach, if you recall.

Applekisses and myself have the Interactive CD and it is easy to install. Ran into a slight problem, though. Because the cd-rom is "out of date" and there are no patches and the company, Graphix Zone Interactive Music, is out of business, it seems (although there is a lot of mention on the search engines about the 1994 release and the company) can't help us.

Although we have upgraded to Apple Quicktime 6.0 and all for our systems -- industry standard -- you have to install the Apple Quicktime executable for the program to be able to work on the XP system.

One the Apple Quicktime is installed, Interactive should run. But there seems to be a glitch when you go into the disco room -- you cannot access the videos of the girl dancing in the DJ booth. Well, that is on my computer here.

I have Windows XP and the Interactive CDROM works just fine with it. I have the original "Interactive" CDROM and not the one that was sold later without the CD track "Interactive". Uninstall all versions of Quicktime first (you can always get them back), and perhpas it would help to change your monitor settings to 640 x 480. The Diamonds and Pearls vault puzzle will not work without these settings anyway. After that, it installed just fine.

I have Windows XP too and my Interactive works just fine.

I'll be posting this to alt.binaries.multimedia.prince fairly soon if anyone wants it...
