i found a copy of I Wish U Heaven on 12 inch. i don't have a turn table but should i get it? is it a collector's item? it has parts 1, 2 and 3.
i also found a copy of ICNTTPOYM with Hot THing as a b-side with the remiexes of Hot Thing on it. ??? | |

Yeah... go ahead and get a cheap turntable if nothing else just to listen to it. I don't want to hype it up, because then you may be disappointed in what you hear. But, the extended remix of I Wish U Heaven is one of those things that Prince simply doesn't do anymore. Definitely a collector's item. And since you already have it, you may as well hear it!
Scarlett Pussy was never one of my favorites, but it seems like it was probably some kind of outtake from the Black Album with the black label and all that The Hot Thing Remixes are less impressive, but still interesting. "You've got to believe in something... why not believe in me?" | |

I bought the 12" when it was new. I didn't realise it was that hard to find. I really don't care for the 10 minute version, I like the album version better. I guess I'm different than most of you  Making love and music are the only things worth fighting for. | |

I guess I'm lucky - I managed to track down both the cd single and the 12" vinyl several years ago. I love the extended version but, if I'm honest, I prefer the album version. One of my ALL-time favourite Prince songs.
By the way, the vinyl version I've got includes a limited edition poster. (I haven't seen it in ages but - if my memory's correct - it's a live shot of Prince on the blue cloud guitar). Does anybody else have this? | |

The best thing about this 12" is playing Scarlet Pussy at 2 different speeds and realising that either would have worked.
I was convinced it was the 33rpm version until I got it on The Hits/The B-Sides. --------------------------------------------------

My first taste of this 12-inch was at Edinboro University's college radio station, WFSE 88.9 FM. I volunteered there as a deejay and sports reporter. Before seeing Prince in Pittsburgh in late October 1988 for the LoveSexy show at The Igloo (NHL Penguins' home arena), the station manager-student dubbed me a copy of it on tape. I still have it. Didn't know at the time who this "Camille" character was until I bought the LoveSexy tour program at the concert. After jamming on I Wish U Heaven during the Pittsburgh gig, the band went into the extended version complete with those thick drums and beat. IT WAS AWESOME. I am not too sure if he played the extended "Take This Beat" many times during the North American leg. Whew, dude, get it.
