BABY GO GO

Just to show some appreciation for this excellent and underrated outtake. I like the slow but funky beat and the mysterious sounds. Im not sure whether it was intended for someone else or for private use, but i'd like to see this and other excellents like Rebirth of the Flesh and The Voice Inside on any sequel to Crystal Ball.
When i first discovered unreleased recordings I was shocked to discover how good they were, and on many occasions are even better than his released material, maybe its just personal taste but i'm sure some others of you notice it too.

Yeah JD often Prince versions r much better, maybe because he wrote them first. The only exception so far is Nothing Compares 2 U, which Sinead o connor improved on.

There's actually another version of this song, although not nearly as good. The tempo is a little faster and it has saxophones and kind of a cheesy snare. It's only like 2 minutes long.

one of the lesser outtakes of that era, but it just goes to show... even the lifeless, dull, boring stuff Prince was doing at the time was pretty damn great. i like it.

Umm, she did? I didn't hear her version that was better than the Family's...

the family's is horrible. those "oh oh oh oh" vocals ruin it.

I will have to agree with Papabeat on this one. The Family's version is so much more funky than what Skinhead O'connor did to it.

Actually in my mind it ranks as one of the best songs he has ever written for others.

Baby Go-Go isn't an unreleased track.
it was released by Nona Hendryx on her album 'Female Trouble'
and also as a single.

A lot of these so-called unreleased tracks have been
released by other artists. Another couple of examples are
'Train' and 'Open Book', both of which have been officially
released on associated artist albums.

And it is a great album Nona put together. There was some tracks from Flyte Time on it with help from Jellybean/Lisa Keith/Jerome and a tribute to Mandela with help from Peter Gabriel.

Baby Go-Go is credited to one J.Coco
