Here's the thing. I have all of Prince's released albums, except for the Black Album. I have CDRs and CDRs of unreleased tracks and live songs. I'm a member of the NPGMC and a few years ago I had a t-shirt that was quite purplish.

Should I really get Purple Rain and Prince's others films?

don't bother. but DO watch graffiti bridge, its a cinematic masterpiece - really showcases P's incredible acting talent.

You're doing the right thing by asking here. You should always ask our opinions before you purchase, watch or listen to anything by Prince.

Funny thing is, I'm not far short of obsessed. Perhaps it's possible not to have seen it and yet still have hundreds of unreleased songs, all the official albums etc. and to have once owned a vaguely purple coloured t-shirt?

i cant believe that there is actually a fan that hasnt seen purple rain.cherry moon or graffiti bridge maybe but purple rain was when his star was at its biggest back in the eighties.

When Graffiti Bridge came out I was living in Maine. I dragged a friend of mine to Boston to see it in the theatre. (That was the ONLY place it was playing.) After the hour+ drive, were were two of three people in the theatre.

The only good thing I can take from that experience is that I can now "brag" that I am one of a small handful of people that saw that piece of trash in the theatre when it debuted. Lucky me.

Yes!! It is mandatory that ALL prince fans witness the "Purple Rain". No really, i was never interested in purple rain, but when i saw it the first time, it made me more of a prince fan.
