That would actually be a personal dream come true, but it would NEVER happen.

If I were a promoter Id like to think that I could make it happen...both have an audience of outsiders so to speak..and believe it or not, their music is quite similar in spirit..and audiences of both seem to have a respect for each artists and each audience imo. A bill of geeks n freaks.

Agreed... But I heard Prince was very impressed with NIN's performance at the MTV VMA's in 1999...

Was that the performance of 'The Day The World Went Away' with the cool-assed lighting rig?

Dare I ask where or how u heard he dug that performance Nevz? Any more info u could dig up would be cool!

NIN are just special - not 4 everyone, but u gotta give Trent some credit in that respect.

The REALLY wierd thing was that when I finally got 2 see them at Brixton Academy on The Fragile tour, I wasnt that impressed. I dont know how far they were in2 the tour, but it just seemed like they were going thru the motions somewhat. Strange, cuz I LOVE em. They're still gonna have 2 go someway 2 beat that Woodstock performance tho - everything seemed 2 come 2gether 4 that show, awesome. Shame the sound was shitey.

There's a really good NIN remiX of 'Democracy' - a track by my friends band Killing Joke u guys should check out. As ever, it's a radical departure from the original - like all GOOD remixes should be!

I still think the best remix Ive ever heard is the version of 'Closer' entitled: 'Closer To God' - blows me away every time...

Agreed, Bananacologne. I saw the Fragile tour in the USA and was somewhat dissapointed in retrospect. Perhaps it was because I had never seen the band before and had been anticipating that show for years (NIN and Price are my absolute favorite musicians). But they did seem a little bored with the whole thing. And I sooo would have rather heard "Closer to God" than the original "Closer." Hell, I would have rather heard "Down in It!"

If you guys haven't heard Trent Reznor's remix of "Growing Up" by Peter Gabriel, you MUST download it right now! It's only available on import CD for purchase. The original version is on Peter's newest CD.

I almost suffocated to death while trapped underneath a pile of sweaty bodies and dozens of chained-together metal folding chairs while at my first NIN concert back in '94. Best fucking time of my LIFE.

The DVD I bought of The Fragile tour blows. I watched it once. Last night I pulled out my 2-video compilation from the Downward Spiral era and watched it with the boyfriend. HOT stuff.

Hey 'Nana or someone else on here, you might know this...about 10 years ago, I bought a bootleg video to Broken, which had all 6 (or however many) songs in order from the album...it started off with that flushing toilet/pipes/water rushing into that bondage dude's mouth thing that they had on 120 minutes for the longest time...remember that? Anyway, I think it was for the last song, it was like this home video...the rest of the videos were totally gross and disturbing, no doubt, but this one was waaay different. It was like a snuff film. I think it WAS a snuff film. I've never before or since seen anything that looked so completely real and completely cheap and homemade at the same time...I really don't see how it could be fake. It was a guy in his underwear with his hands tied up over his head, hanging from his hands...and someone was taping and another guy was like jerking off and slicing this guy with a razor or something...and just keeps slicing and slicing and at the end starts digging into the guy's chest and pulls out his heart, which you can totally see is still beating (and yes, I've seen real hearts before, and they look EXACTLY like this) and the guy eats it, and then cuts off the guy's cock and shoves it in his mouth.

For a few years I would play it when one of my roommates would have company just to fuck with their heads...but it made me feel...complicit. Dirty...I dunno. I finally pitched it because I couldn't handle the fact that I'm pretty much convinced that it's real. Of course now I regret it just b/c it seems like it would be a collector's item or something...and it must have been fake...right?

They played "Fragile"...
I heard it from a friend of mine who played/plays every now and then with Johnny Depp, he was there that night to introduce NIN... Some girl from Prince's camp had a talk with Depp cos she was a fan of his and they were talking about NIN and Prince and then that girl apparently said that Prince was really impressed with and really dug their performance...

I saw them in Holland and Germany (Fragility 1.0) and that was pretty good... But by the time they did the American tour (Fragility 2.0) it all came together and they just flat out killed it every time... I saw them in Spokane and Sacramento there...
That was pretty impressive stuff, amazing stageset, which looked pretty cheap and lowbudget in Europe and it seemed they spent alot of money on the American leg of the tour...

There's a really good NIN remiX of 'Democracy' - a track by my friends band Killing Joke u guys should check out. As ever, it's a radical departure from the original - like all GOOD remixes should be!

Yeah - Trent has just finished reworking that 4 a release on DVD this year! I have 2 say, as good as the show is (certainly better than the gig I attended) the DVD dissapointed thru lack of extras - if anyone was gonna push the DVD medium 2 the fullest, I thought it would have been Trent - but more on this later...

I am so sick and fucking tired of people shitting on Trent just because he got sucessful. He achieved mainstream sucess based on his own talent, period. He isn't a sell out, The Downward Spiral doesn't suck, and his next album will be amazing. mad

Clearly, you're absolutely correct. I mean Broken was just noise, and The Downward Spiral? I was waiting for the hook to grab me, but it didn't. Can't really sing along to it...you have to like PAY ATTENTION to the music and listen to it many times...he totally licks his own ass.

By the way, does anyone else wish they could lick their own ass?
