Does anybody know what happened to the Rave project back '88. Was it a proper album and what were the final track listings?

I only know that I think the roaring Rave from Small Club is a zillion times better than the lame studioversion Rave on the 1999 album.

there was a thread about this not so long ago. the 'rave' project was cancelled because a more interesting project came along, the 'batman' album. prince put 'rave' on a hold, but never continued working on it after that. there are several configurations circulating amongst fans. the three configurations the org has spoken of are:

I like the tracklisting - very offbeat and different for a P album. Not sure if it would generate any truly great singles or general pop interest though! but personally it's the sort of album I would like P to release. Shame he shelved it for Batman (although, that's the LP that got me hooked!)

There was a bootleg of that config. (I think it had the Parade tour book photo on the front).

And there is a track on there labelled as Stimulation, I presume that is the instrumental they are referring to.

I know that's not Stimulation, but does anyone know what it (I don't have the bootleg, and I've never heard it) - is it a fake, or an actual Prince instrumental from somewhere else?

I don't know, the track "Stimulation" on my version is a 6 min 22 sec instrumental (It sounds 70s funky like a 94 East track). I've got the artwork but no way to post the pics- the credits list it as being a "Daisy Chain Records Production"
