'I hear your voice' heard this? just added it to my 'essential outtakes that shoulda come out' list. Bloody fabulous vocals by Prince, Rosie does a great job too. very atmospheric.

I also love the other "voice" track, 'The Voice', also from the same period. . "You don't frighten us, English pig dogs. Go and boil your bottoms, sons of a silly person."

I sometimes think he recorded stuff just as guides for whoever he was giving the song to. Take 'The Sex Of It', I don't think there's any way we were supposed to hear his version.

Patti also recorded it.
Dang, how many versions are there? **************************************************

'The Sex Of It'...Man those are top-notch demos you're namechecking there!... P was definitely burning on all cylinders in the songwriting department around this time. Lazy vocals all round, cheap-sounding drum machines, songs sung from a female's point of view... it doesn't get any better than these rough little gems. Forget 'Moonbeam Levels' and 'Chocolate', this is where it's really at. . "You don't frighten us, English pig dogs. Go and boil your bottoms, sons of a silly person."

Dang, how many versions are there? Three unreleased versions. P's original, P's co-lead vocal with Mavis (criminally cut short by some retarded bootlegger), and Mavis' remix version. . "You don't frighten us, English pig dogs. Go and boil your bottoms, sons of a silly person."

My Mrs favourite P track. She loves it, hell i do too, i can't hit repeat 10 times like she does though.Such an accesible fun song, probably would've still been No1 now if he'd released it!

I also love the other "voice" track, 'The Voice', also from the same period. And I love the other other "Voice" track "The Voice Inside" There are also two different versions of "The Voice". One of them has an extra line on the chorus. I don't like that one as much as the other. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps
