i just got my new year's pix today, and i didn't use up all the film at the party i went to so i wound up takin random, stoopid pix of my apartment. check it:



this is my purple rain movie poster. i bought it for $65 bux at a record show last fall--it woulda cost me $75 to get but the dude runnin the booth where i bought it from gave me a discount cuz i'm always buyin stuff from his booth whenever the record show's goin on. it was awkward bringin it home, cuz i don't have a car. people kept callin out, "ooh, nice poster!" while i was at the bus stop, and i was sittin on the bus and the poster was halfway out in the aisle n'shit.

my computer's directly below the poster (yes, my pooter's on the floor cuz i have no room for a computer desk)--i have my stuffed toy dog, sploogie, sittin behind the keyboard. i'm teachin him how to moderate the org, heh.




this is my controversy promo poster, which i bought from another orger (groovement!) for $50 last summer or so. when i got it in the mail i didn't realize that it was gonna be that big--it's the biggest poster i've got hangin up in my dinky lil' apartment. i originally planned to have it hangin up above my computer, but that didn't materialize--i had a helluva time puttin up the pr poster and i didn't wanna have to lug that thing over to the other side of the room (it's got cardboard backing on it, so it's kinna heavy/cumbersome to deal with). so, i popped it on the wall above my record player.

yes, my apartment's dinky as hell--that's my fridge (to the right of the record player) and the foot of my bed (zebra-striped blanket, woo!).


...ya'll can stop droolin now.

All I know is, if my fridge were at the foot of my bed, I'd be too fat to hang up posters. You have my respect!

ONE room, the kitchen and bedroom were distinquished by carpeted and tiled...with an ajoining bath and tiny closet. I give her credit though, as a single parent just starting over, she did what she had to do.

my apartment's pretty spacious for a studio/efficiency: the bathroom and the kitchen are both behind doors and they're separate from the living room/bedroom. and i pay $440/mo. for it, which ain't bad at all considerin i live in downtown mpls (rent's pretty high here).
