Songs that coulda been contenders I was listening to Rave tonight in the car and couldnt' help but think that some of Prince's songs (particularly the title track on Rave) could have been so much better if he'd taken them a little further. Rave's vocal and guitar parts are great and all in all I think it's a great tune but the drum and keyboard parts dont' match the intensity of the guitar and vocals and thus drag the song down. It coulda been really funky! I feel the same way about "Kiss" although I suppose it's more of a personal preference thing on that track. What do y'all think? Do you have any songs you feel could have been a lot better if he'd done more (or less!) with them? | |

Off the top of me noggin, "Tangerine" and "Had U"...definitely "Had U"...and "I Wonder U"...damn straight I said it. I didnt' say that first quote you have me down for. I actually like the title track on Rave. But I defintley agree with Tangerine and I Wonder U! | |
