What's funny is that during one of the ahdio shows from Year 1, Prince cuts a kickin' live guitar version of America short and has the computer voice say, "Don't you hate it when you're just getting into a jam and the bootleg cuts off? Don't buy the bootleg, get the whole thing direct from the source."

Whatever. I did finally track down the full-length (about 10 more minutes) version of America...on a bootleg.

Wow, 3 OOOLD songs segued together. They're really working now!!! Sadly, it's an improvement - man, I'd love to tell one of those moderators face to face what I think they are helping to do to Prince's career and fanbase...

For whatever reason the content or lack of is (as good) as down to Prince personally. For whatever reason he's not opening up.

On another subject, always wondered how the mecahnism works for him posting full versions (if lower quality) of old WB songs. Copyright or royalty issues? We all know that just 'cos he wrote it doesn't mean he can do whatever he likes! Or is this an example of mean old WB turning a blind eye? (maybe theyr could care less, who knows). I'd be curious 2 know.
