I did - I saw the JOTY tour at Jones Beach, when he made his entrance sailing across the water next to the stage playing guitar on a motorboat. It was HOTT.

prince came to my home state (iowa) for the tour, but didn't play in my hometown (des moines)...he played over in cedar rapids, which is about an hour or two away. i remember seein the commercial for the concert on teevee and wantin to go see 'im, but my folks wouldn't let me go cuz:
--i was too young to go alone (i had just turned 17 at the time) --even if i had the chance to go, my folks wouldnt've been able to afford it all (tix and takin my ass all the way over to cedar rapids) ...lucky for me i have seen 'im live a couple times since then.

ditto to this gig In the distance a light shines and I know it is mine. Someday I will touch it because it calls me. It says cross the line, cross the line. I know everything is not always what it seems, so I pinch myself daily just in case it's a dream

Went to see this tour twice. Had third row tickets for the Hollywood Bowl. I was sitting in front of Tom Arnold (who got pulled up on stage to dance) and a six foot tall transvestite. I don't think he/she was with Tom. Quite a site. Great show, played almost two and a half hours.
The next night had front row seats to see him in Irvine, CA. He played three hours that night and it's one of the best shows I've ever seen. One thing that pissed me off...about two minutes before the show started, someone from Prince's camp brought about 20 hot chicks to stand in front of the stage blocking our perfect seats. I paid $150 for those front row seats and it was really offensive. The chicks were hogging up our space and got angry at us when we crowded against them and told them to leave. One girl was screaming at me and she was standing right in front of MY seat! Security was no help. That's too much money to pay to get screwed over like that! Positivity Y'all! Two times; (4 if u wanna count VH-1 Honors and the pantages show the night after for the Love 4 one Another tour) once at the Hollywood Bowl October 97, which was the shortest show of the tour. (80 Minutes if even that) GCS opened played a very long set. Prince's set was short because of L.A. curfew laws I believe although for years we all blamed how long Larry's set was. Saw him the next night in Irvine and performed a way longer set and even though I was way further back, this show was more enjoyable than the Bowl. After Leno in July 1998, Prince did a special show at the Keyclub on Sunset. D.J. spun a grip of Prince and it was off the hook. Larry took the stage for about 45-50 minutes and Prince took the stage round 11 and played til after 2 A.M. Mr. Hayes was spotted walking thru the crowd before showtime and Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale stood right next to me for a good portion of the show. Highlights were "Love Thy Will b Done", "The One", and a 10+ minute version of "Mad Sex". After standing in line for 6 hours, meeting some great people round me (purplekat & others) and some feet that wanted to pop out thier socket and kick me in the ass for standing on them so long, I left pleased and happy, cept for the pain in my toes. He was to return to the Forum in late 1998, which was put back to first due to the ankle injury in ATL and then cancelled a half hour before Chaka was to take the stage. Caused a major traffic jamm on the 405 and 105. Took Prince 3 years to come back to L.A. after the bowl and the Forum crap, but we never stopped luvin him. I went 2 the show and the after party. Great show I thought he was in fantastic form as always really...he just truly did it all. The after party I was standing on a table near the front. Fought my way 4 a perfect view looking down just a bit. It felt pretty unreal the man has that aura around him just sitting down chatting even. He never performed but whenever U can watch him groove with Chaka...its a treat within itself.

Let's not forget that Tom had the mic put in his face for "1999" and forgot the WORDS! hehe. Wonder if he clapped his hands on the 2 n 4? Silence Speaks A Thousand Words.

I was there and it was one of the more disappointing shows I'd seen. I really didn't need the 20 minute version of 'Face Down'...

Saw the show at Wembley Arena. Remember I enjoyed it but looking back it didn't leave as much of a lasting impression as some other concerts. Lacked a bit of atmosphere, then again, I was 2 thirds back DESPITE ringing up for tickets the moment they went on sale.
Felt the stage was too big for Prince to fill on his own, actually missed the dancers. He had to run from platform to platform trying to give everyone a good view, the band were very much in the background. But the aftershow at the Hippodrome was fantastic.

I saw the shows in Philadelphia and in Holmdel, New Jersey. That was back when he didn't keep the same setlist for each show. They were great fun, those shows. The Philadelphia show was my first Prince concert since the Purple Rain Tour. Long over due by that time!
