Prince's Music and Name making Noise slowly but surely...

Have you noticed Prince's name and his music has been used frequently on T.V. and Radio...

There was a period where radio stations stop playing Prince Music as much as they used too...and as far as new music 'HELL NO', Prince's Classics have been making their way onto mix shows on urban stations during the weekend, plus afternoon drive at 5's...and even his name is mentioned more frequently on sitcoms, alot of fans are coming out!!!
From Tattoos on reality t.v. stars, to just the occassional 'I LOVE PRINCE MUSIC'...

It seems that something is happening or someones working...because Mtv's Qudus mentioned PRINCE to the TRL audience a few times as a genius, apparently he's a fan...106 and Park have openly expressed that PRINCE should come on and sit down for a chat and perform!

Plus his music has been played on Sport shows to CSI Miami...could it be that Universal is getting his music played in several different outlets...Because even Malls have been playing PRINCE, Airplanes, plus radio stations having a PRINCE Weekend playing the hits and even parts of ONA-LIVE and so on...
I even know alot of people who know about Rainbow Children and The Live Box set...its not in masses, but people who aren't PRINCE FANS at all...and its surprising to me...

So is Prince's name being dropped alot lately for a good reason???

I have noticed that they play Prince in places far more here in the UK than they do in the USA!!
It seems that every time I go into some stores they are playing a Prince song, like for example I was in a shoe store 2 weeks ago and Sign 'O' The Times was playing. I was in B & Q(similar to Home Depot) and Girls and Boys was playing. I was at a gas station and TMBGITW was playing. and only today I was in WH Smiths(a magazine, book, stationary, music and DVD/video, store) and Money Dont Matter 2Night was playing!! I am not sure whether its because they like him or every time I go somewhere I give off a certain vibe and automatically Prince starts playing!!! lol lol lol

lol, i know what you mean. i was in a bar in notts and the very best of was playing. i was freaking out and you could see people in the bar nodding their heads to the music (no seriously you could, it wasnt that full and people were just sitting and chatting while tapping their feet and shit). then they changed the music and nobody was dancing then! ha!

plus an off license (beer liquor store) was playing the same cd supposedly cos i have a mate who hated the controversy album, said it was really shit, which is very strong for him to say, but then i played him "prince" and he wanted a copy, and his fave song is i wanna be your lover, and he said he heard it in an offie! oooh...

but do you think universal have anything to do with this? i mean not prince songs being played at a beer store, but on tv and stuff?

Lately here in Italy I have the feeling there is a purple "buzz" growing 'round'n'round, continuously... This year will show us if these sensations are could be confirmed by something more concrete.

I believe that every "legend" experiences some type of resurgence, and perhaps 2004 will be the year P capitalizes on an opportunity to reemerge on the popular music scene, after completely blowing it in 1999. Whatever happens, his legacy is secure with me, so if he never sells another record, I'll be cool.

Something very strange happened yesterday. Here in Columbus, OH they replayed about an hour of the 'Rave 2000' show on the local NBC station. It seemed really random, but hey, that's cool. I also heard "The Cross" on one of our alternative radio stations this morning. Afterwards, they mentioned the Hall of Fame induction. I have heard more and more mentions of Prince recently in the mainstream media, but I'm trying not to get my hopes up for anything too crazy.

I have always heard Prince here and there. Usually it is something from early in his career (when doves cry, kiss, etc.). When I do hear anything from or about Prince on tv it is usually unmentioned background music or a joke about him. I don't see anything promising on the horizon. Sorry to disagree...it would be great to see Prince get some attention. Perhaps if he didn't fuck himself royally, he'd get some press. This whole shit about reporters not being able to record, type or write anything down is ridiculous. Especially when he then complains about being misquoted. Hello!
