I would love a follow up to the DMSR book, to pick up where it left off.

I think UPTOWN magazine are doing "The Vault" book instead of a follow up though, due in March - Can't wait!

I did notice a January 2004 edition on amazon.co.uk-
maybe just a new printing of same book, with new cover art?

'The Vault' does sound very promising..

From what I know, I can tell you that there is no NEW version of DMSR coming out. Also, do not expect a DMSR volume 2 from Per Nilsen. The first one was too difficult to research and cost him a great deal of time and money.

Regarding a paperback version of Possessed. There will be a version that comes out that has the errors fixed and a bit more information.

People have to remember, that when someone like Per or Alex writes a book about Prince, it is done out of love for the music and the artist. It may not always seem like that, but these people get into this knowing that Prince books don't sell and yet they do it anyway. As a fan, I suggest that you buy the books if you want to read more about him and his music. Personally, I liked both books and got insights into the artist from both people's perspectives. Per's book had amazing research and details and Alex's book, while using some of Per's research, looked at the artist himself, sometimes not in the best light, but in a way that I hadn't considered. I think both of them captured the artist in way that makes you want to relisten to his music and find new clues in his lyrics.

I can also tell you that THE VAULT is an amazing book, having read a rough version of it, and I cannot wait to hear what other fans think. The research that went into this one is overwealming.

Now hopefully someone will do a PRINCE IN THE RECORDING STUDIO book. But who is going to step up to the plate on that one?
The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

Days Of Wild covers pretty much everything...but it ain't really a follow-up, as such.

It's more like a chronology...like a giant collection of recording dates/concert performances/tv appearances etc.

Like I said it does cover everything though, so it's definately worth getting.

Pity. I had hoped THE VAULT was also going to be an attempt to tackle that little discussed aspect of Prince's career.

Like righteous says, DOW is a chronology - it's not a biography like DMSR is.

DOW is the most recent version of Prince: A Documentary (I think the last version of that was from 1992/3).

Days Of Wild and Turn It Up V2.0 are both still available from Uptown.

Or you could wait for the Vault.

http://www.uptown.se/

I said it before, I'll say it again, We are lucky to have people like Uptown, they have given us more detailed factual information on Prince's recording history than any other group/persons, official avenues included.

Prince should be kissing their asses, not suing them.
