why wasn't...

why wasn't "the most beautiful girl in the world" put in "the very best of", tht song was PRINCE's biggest uk hit rite? so why didn't they put it in?

But it was also on The Gold Experience, which was on Warner's...so what does that mean? Probably too much red tape for one song when they really wanted to capitalize on the "retro" 80s stuff anyway.

My guess is you're right, too much red tape with the Belmark tie-in for one song.

P owns the masters to:
the gold exp. (inc. tmbgitw)
the beautiful exp. (bellmark rec.)
exodus(maybe)
and emancipation onwards minus OF4S.
WB couldn't include it as P owns the masters to it. they probably asked but P told them to go shove it.

so who got the money for the album then?
was it WB cause they own then songs and brought out the album? but shouldn't PRINCE get sum of it?

P must of cashed in with publishing and all
P's paypacket would be minimal in comparison to WB
