I think it's just a promo pic for Sign O' The Times.
It was used as a limited poster for the UK 7" of 'If I Was Your Girlfriend' All's I know. Nice hat by the way!

I worked at a billboard company here in Minneapolis for years. Every year, when Prince would release a new record, we would produce 14' x 48' displays featuring the album artwork and his mug. As a fan, I was the designer on most of the projects and wound up with alot of goodies that Paisley Park would provide for reference. Most of the time before the release of the platter.
I so wanted to keep these signs after they were taken down, but they were so large, I had no room for them. I often wonder what these would go for on ebay... sigh. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot. | |

That poster had pride of place on my wall when I used to have a huge collage of Prince pictures. I still have it somewhere, but it's wall-hanging days are long over.
