Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I dont think that people just HATE it.. If it came from anyone else, more credit would be given, but it has to do with expectations from a fans perspective. Look at his past, his history of devine musical culture, and once people understand how deep and layered (in more ways than musical instruments) u see why people think the 90's was crap.. it was almost like he just got in line and took the cake just like everyone else, when we have people like Radiohead, Jeff Buckley, and a few others who ventured out with a new sound, and when u hear these new bands produce the same quality as the song "crystal ball" *check ok computer* u see why it is just a let down from a fans perspective.. He was lost, and now he's found, but dont mistake the "Found", because its only from his point of view.. he is just trying to find his position in the music buiz, but from the output of his recent and 90's material, its pretty obvious that the musical "flame" has been dampened..

No I can not agree with you, I assume you have listened to Purple Rain, 1999?

The album is excellent in my opinion. Its in my top 5 which includes 1999, TGE, Dirty Mind and For You. The rainbow children is in there as well (over 5 but who's counting). I know allot of people don't dig it but I love this album, its very dark and different than allot he's done. Pheromone is my fav, its lyrics are creepy and its hypnotizing. Space is great, and Come is outstanding. I got the clothes, I got the bank and the crew, push your way up to the front and shake your motherf#ck'n...

It's *A* favorite of mine, but it's not *THE* favorite. I don't know if I even have a "*THE*" favorite Prince album anymore. Different records suit different moods.

His second poorest effort after Diamonds and Pearls

The "test pressing" version is a great one, but I don't like what he finally released...same with Diamonds and Pearls..the demo versions were great, but then he screwed up some of the songs like Daddy Pop and added crap like Jughead and Push. But back to Come, Endorphinemachine and Interactive were originally on there..it was a great album. The released version is just "OK".

prince has not released a complete, cohesive album since "lOVESEXY".everything after that seems to become weaker & more tame year after year.most songwriters have a span of about 3-5 years where they are creating fresh, imaginative and heartfelt music/lyrics,unfortunately for prince, his span of creativity started to windle down in early 1988,just look at the output,it is vast but is it quality enough to rival his songwriting/production value/ideas of his 20's,when most artists hit the age of 30 they become paranoid,self-conscience and they begin to frown on things they sang, wrote, recorded in they're "college years"...prince is no different, just get out all of his music(including unreleased jams)and you will notice a definate dwindling down of quality.if you still dont believe in this theory,2 words-GAME BOYZ-this is not why i became a prince FAN!the thought of tony m. in spandex still fucks me up!our badass from purple rain seems to have ran his well dry a long time ago.usually after this much time passes without a steady stream of quality SONGS,in this case since 1988,people dont take your output as seriously as they once did.another sign of writers block is when artists start recording cover songs, putting out greatist hits packages and recording instrumentals!we wont even get into why prince has been so tame and grandfatherly ever since he's had larry g. hanging around-bad influence 4 sho'...stop!it might be over folks!at least we got our old records and memories of a time when you got a b side with most singles,a new look etc...the 80s were great.smile.

I think "Endorphinemachine" fits better on 'The Gold Experience' and "Interactive" would have fit better than "We March" on the same album. Or replace "We March" with "Days of Wild". I believe "Come" was meant to be sort of a "dark" record. I like the version that was released. You always find something new and interesting in the lyrics. Prince may have felt that "Interactive" and "Endorphinemachine" were too upbeat for 'Come'. Just my opinion, though.
