So I now understand that you're not calling Romance sad, but you're calling SOMEone sad, right? What do you think is crossing the line? Emancipation is ABOUT Prince and Mayte's marriage and pregnancy...so is it crossing the line to talk about the baby's passing? Or the divorce? Or who cheated on whom? When you have songs like "I Love U But I Don't Trust U Anymore" and "Man O War" and you say things like "My Puerto Rican baby don't live here no more" on the Rave special...when you do those things in your art, you can't then turn around when it's convenient for you and have disdain for people when they express interest in the life of their favorite artist.

I don't particularly like Prince as an individual, and I don't have a whole lot of respect for him as a person. At the same time, I enjoy listening to his music, and watching him as a performer. I also like and respect a lot of his long-time fans--which is the main reason I like coming to the org.

And you don't have to give $.02 about his personal life, but you also don't have to artificicially respect his privacy--especially when he chooses to put a topic in the public domain by singing about it. And yes, I'm not ashamed at all to feel this way.

So I don't go around "gossiping" about his parents, Gregory, Mani, Mayte, etc. Frankly, like you, I just don't really care that much what goes on in his personal life--though for different reasons than you:

U don't care because he tells U not 2 care; as U are a follower (not a leader) who tries 2 coopt his way of thinking and writing, etc., in hopes that it will somehow bring U acknowledgement from him someday.

I just don't care--which is why I don't scan NPGMC message boards or the org looking for news, gossip, etc., and why I've never bothered to read one of those Jon Bream or Alex Hahn books. At the same time, if a topic about his personal life arises in discussion, I don't mind stating the truth about it--even if it hurts his fams to hear it--because I don't believe his personal business is somehow anymore sacrosanct that Michael Jackson's, Kobe's, Clinton's, etc.

She was so young when she and Prince lost that baby and then she ended up getting divorced when most girls her age were getting married. That really sucks.
