The Gold Experience

I got this album for Christmas, I always wanted this, and when I heard it was not being produced anymore in October, I had to ask 4 it for christmas lol.

Anyway, so I got it, and I have 2 say, this album is the BOMB! I can listen 2 every track and love it, this cd is a gem biggrin.

I was wondering what you all think, but I love it, and I think anyone who doesn't have it should get it NOW! (cunning pun there)...

It's okay. I liked it a lot when it was released but hardly ever play at all these days. There's some good stuff on there (P Control, The Most Beautiful Girl In The World, Shy, Eye Hate U) but it's a little too overproduced and retro sounding (in an 80's kind of way) for me to see it as the great return that so many people said it was at the time. A good album, not a great one.

Just my opinion, of course. wink

Every song on the album (with the possible exception of 'We March') is killer.

Even tracks I didn't care 4 much at first, such as 'Dolphin' and 'Now', are beginning to grow on me now, and I think it's easily his best album of the 90's...

...well along with 'The Truth'. smile

Sure. I'll record it if you want and then loop the best bits so you can hear your own discomfort in stereo sound. smile

it is nice that most of the music is live. by that i mean that it has michael b playing on it along with other npg members (sonny, tommy b., etc.). i like when he is playing with a band. the music on it is pretty good, but like others who have posted, i don't play it too often anymore.

I've had it about six weeks and since then I've listened to it probably more than any other P album. It rocks. Its maybe a bit over-produced but not as badly as Emancipation. Apart from We March it is mostly killer I agree, and you've got to love the references to his silly new name (espec. in I Hate U.) And I think Gold is a great song after a few listens.

Again, thanks to orgers that told me to buy it a few months back.

I really like it. "Shy" is class and I remember "Gold" getting played on Simon Mayo's old breakfast show on Radio 1 all those years ago.

Anybody need it? A hardware store down the road from me are selling it on cassette for £1.50 in their closing down sale. Orgnote me if you want me to buy it for you.
