U DONT HAVE ALL PRINCE'S ALBUMS UNLESS U HAVE THE TIME'S ALBUMS!

Listening to The Time's albums its amazing to note that this band was a huge outlet for Prince. Their debut album in 1981 for example sounds just as raw and exciting as Dirty Mind and you even have Prince's vocals in the background. Girl is an absolute gem as is After Hi School and Cool.
Their second album was written by Prince. They are a great band too and i just love a lot of their songs as they have very addictive hooks.
This is why i believe that listening to the Time albums is just as great as getting a new Prince album.

The Time first debut album is Princes funkiest moment..he has never surpassed that funk. Ever. Not even We Can Funk unreleased version is as funky as that release. The deep groove of Cool and the god damn that shit is deep funk of Get It Up mixed with raw goodtar has never been matched..by Prince or anyopne else since its release in 1981. I listened last night and its partly the work of the devil or something unearthly. Im not lying.

Everyone claims no2. What Time Is It is "The Time"'s best because they say the writing is stronger and jams tighter etc (777-9311). What Time Is It is not "deep" sounding , its a lot of high hat hiss sound and not "funk". Get It Up and Cool and Stick are and sound "deep...it has that bottom that is essential part of what funk is. It is like penautbutter..thiskness. And nothing not even Lets Go Crazy has an pening that s as celabratory and just kaboom as Get It Up. I tell you, Prince creating this was done with some help that was not from here...someone told me some shit and I believe to create this stuff (its hypnotoc) was not just "talent"

You could say that about most of the related artists albums upto 1987/8.

Vanity 6, Apollonia 6, Jill Jones, The Family, Madhouse, Sheila E. - I consider them all Prince albums.

Yeah but The Time's releases were the heart and soul of Prince..the essence of Prince and what he originally and fundamentally represented...at least the very first one and the second. The App and Madhouses' etc were after the deluge...after Thee Rain (cept Van)

I have all of The Time's albums and would say that their debut album, 'What Time Is It?' and 'Pandemonium' r my faves. The first album is awesome, and I like every song on that album.

yeah...the first 'The Time' was indeed the shit. Get It Up is just a monster of a song...like you said the deep bottom mixed with that raw, loose edgy frenetic guitar work is absolutely perfect. I remember I actually had to by multiple copies of this album because I would literally wear the records out (this was back when there were still albums..as in wax smile. Yeah this one was..and still does hold up after all these years...this one is just lowdown and deep.

The second time record 'What Time Is It' was great too and it also had some extremely stellar moments, but true it wasn't as 'deep & heavy' feeling as this first one...the first one was a little more 'basement' sounding...a little darker...

I think Ice Cream Castles is very underrated, theres some beautiful melodies on that album.
Also Pandemonium kicks some butt, i just love Skillet, Donald Trump black version and Sometimes I get lonely

My Drawers, Jungle Love and If the Kid cant make you come r just great.
My Drawers is basically an early version of We can Funk, its very similar in tune but also great.

So true...they really are Prince albums with Morris Day on vocals...especially the first one where you can hear Prince sing on two or three tracks.

I love the first two albums "the Time" & "What time is it?"
They're brilliant. The're only a few Prince-albums that can compete with these two!

"Icecream castles" & "Pandemonium": what a bunch of crap!

The first two Time albums are funk classics and a must-have for any Prince fan.

The third album 'Ice Cream Castles' is not quite as good, but it's still a strong album.

The fourth album 'Pandemonium' is kinda disappointing boxed

i like the Time, but as far as i'm concerned, they've only had 2 albums. that nonsense in '84 and the further nonsense in '90 ... that's not the Time. not my Time anyway disbelief

but i'll be generous and say they have 2 and 1/2 albums, counting the unreleased "Corporate World"

I was watching Jay and Silent Bob last night and they have alot of extra stuff on the Time. What is "Corporate World" and what is the track listsing? It was listed on the DVD as a 1989 release by WBros.

Thanks!
