OK that thread was sick. I was seeing quite a lot of support for Come in this category. You people should be ashamed of yourselves!! Now I know I aint nothing but a music snob who resembles an anus, but I know good and well, that Come is a shit album. It has 3 average tunes on it and a pile of crap to go along with them. Can someone please give me one good reason to give Come a second chance?

Race, Loose, Papa, and Dark are all classic! Come is his best album since Lovesexy, imo

I think Come is a good album, but was dogged by too many changes, no promotion and videos (They could have done a nice erotic/Barbarella themed video for Space).

Letitgo is one of the worst singles ever, and a lead single? Was that Prince's decision to have it as a lead single? (That would explain a lot).

Anyone who has the Original Test Pressing bootleg can see that Come was a great little record.

As it turned out, it sounds uneven, disjointed and 'off' - but then so does ATWIAD, and they both contain some fantastic tracks.

I've never been really impressed with this album.

It always came off as kinda empty to me.

Come is pretty good for a catchy song, Letitgo is good a few times, and Dark is probably the best song on the album.

The rest I could do without.

I'VE BEEN A FAN SINCE THE EARLY 80'S, AND TO ME, NO ALBUM FROM BATMAN ON HAS HAD THAT CONSISTENCY THAT ALL OF THE ALBUMS DID BEFORE BATMAN. I KNOW, I KNOW, HE'S NOT THE SAME PERSON, ETC.. HE ALSO HAS HAD SOME VERY GOOD SONGS AFTER LOVESEXY, JUST NOT THAT "PRINCE" ALBUM, I HAD BEEN USED TO. THE REALITY IS THAT THOSE DAYS ARE OVER, AND WE ARE GOING TO HAVE TO BE SATISFIED WITH MEDIOCRE WORK, (WHEN COMPARING TO PRINCE IN HIS PRIME) FROM NOW ON.OF COURSE, MY POINT OF VIEW COULD BE SHAPED ON MY AGE WITH EACH ALBUM RELEASE ALSO. Well, I can't speak for anyone else, but "Letitgo" was getting MUCH airplay here in the States when it came out. I like the production on that track, and the lyrics kinda give you an idea of P's mindset at the time. Other than that, the album wasn't really promoted much. I don't think 'Come' is a great album, but it has it's share of gems.

i like it better than lovesexy.

...completely the opposite with 'Come', I had to listen to it a good two or three times before I realised how good it really was.

I often dislike how garnis speaks his clout, but I have to admit he has a point. Come had 1 very good track (the banger title track), 1 decent track (Letitgo) and one great track (Dark). It's not his best LP post-Lovesexy

I rate Come pretty high mainly because of the test pressing, which if released in original form, would have made it a much stronger album IMO. Plus, there's the original "electronic" version of "Come," which could have been a strong b-side. I don't like the "jazzy" slow version of Come... the slurping sounds just sound pathetic towards the end.

Let's be honest -- among orgers, Lovesexy is HIGHLY overrated. I don't even feel it ranks among Prince's best albums.

I don't even really like Lovesexy, too many layers and too much reverb. The songs are brilliant but I am uncomfortable with the production. I would love this to be re-recorded with the current band sound. This is my opinion, and I don't care what anyone else thinks.
