Look at the date on this: Feb 21, 1996 - Cherry Cherry was released on Exodus in March 1995. Seems unlikely this is authentic. But then, who would go through the trouble of making a CD like this for, of all songs, Cherry Cherry?

the i'll do anything looks fake - especially since the seller got one of the titles wrong. but wasn't there talk of doing a maxi of cherry cherry with tlc? i seem to remember it being around the time of exodus' aborted us release, early 1996...
but then again i could be full of it.

With TLC? Never heard of that.

Plus, the CD says Edel UK, so it's unlikely to be tied to the proposed US release.

I can't believe I'm spending so much time posting about Cherry Cherry. Seriously in my worst-ever 5 Prince songs.

I can`t read that. What`s that word behind the track
Empty Room? Is it (Ballad)? Does that make any sense?

So what, just get Dreams or Platinum, and you`re fine.

It's a fake...
The original reference CD has the usual blue on white WEA covers and of course an accurate tracklist...

Hmm, wouldn't be so sure...
This seller has been offering many rare and genuine Prince items in the last couple of months.
Besides, I saw a scan of this release once, on a collectors' reference site (no longer available unfortunately...) and yes, that's what it looked like! So who knows? confuse
Wouldn't bid though.

That's the reply she sent when I asked her regarding the origins of the CDR:

"I have around another 30 cdrs that i have collected over the 15 yrs. Many items purchased from esprit, energy, madhouse.vinyl exchange and tokyo music."

So make of that what you will... but there will be more to come. What surprises me though is the fact that she says she bought it from standard retailers. Actually, I can't remember to have seen any of those CDRs (with unreleased tracks) on Esprit & the like. I mean, if a CDR with unreleased tracks would have been sold on Esprit, Madhouse etc. it would have cost more than 200 GBP I guess. For sure I would have noticed that.

Though, Mutiny is right - she's selling some quite nice items. Apparently she's selling off a (her?) whole collection.

They are being sold from Shropshire??

Now I know they are fake. I know about some of the other "rare" stuff, and half of it was fake.

Please people, save your money.

If you are still not conviced, ask for a sample MP3. It should be crystal clear. I bet they refuse to send one to you, or send you a recording taken off The Thunderball discs.
