Batman and Gold
In the distance a light shines and I know it is mine. Someday I will touch it because it calls me. It says cross the line, cross the line. I know everything is not always what it seems, so I pinch myself daily just in case it's a dream

Come & The truth
i thought maybe he really wasnt over when these came out,
then we got sorry dumb things like Emancipation and Rainbow childern,
I buy everything thing he releases, but sadly most all the new stuff ends up in the garbage can.

Gold Experience and TRC.

Both are brilliant, but TRC is really under-appreciated imo.

The Work Vol. 1-3. althought I don't have that record sad. It looks good.

Um, I never really liked Lovesexy. I think it's over done, and it's the beginning of his militant (for lack of a bettter word) Jesus crap. Although I do like alot of songs on it, I guess. The song Lovesexy ruins the record for me, except for Cat's rap. "I'm gonna walk RIGHT down yr halls, I'm gonna swivel in yr LOVE seat."

Sign O' the Times is The last truly GREAT unfuckwithable Prince record for me.

I really liked COME. When it came out, I thought it was the best thing he released in years, and I played the shit out of it. I understand why people don't like songs like Solo and Poppa, but the songs COME and Space are REALLY strong, I think.

I also like Emancipation...the cut it down to one record version. You cut that record down and it becomes cohesive and strong.

Have never understood people's love of The Gold Experience. can barely get through that record. Just want to listen to the chorus of Pussy Control.

I'd have to say "TRC," followed by "Come."

I still think the albums upto TGE are very good, just not as great as those first block of albums (inc. TBA and all related artist stuff).

It's just so much teenage MTV bubblegum tripe: "sexy MF", "Jughead" "Pussy Control" - maybe I've just spent too long at the fair... but it appeared to me that instead of becoming a more serious musician - like he seemed to be in the ATWIAD - SOTT period -, Prince became a comic book character after he hit 30.

I agree completely! He was moving into a great direction with Lovesexy, but then it's like he got nervous and just resorted back to the overly sexual stuff with Gett Off, Sexy MF, etc. The videos did become kind of goofy and cartoon-like.

The Rainbow Children, his magnificent artistic comeback.

Of course there were good to great albums between, but TRC is the best.

The Gold Experience is second and The Symbol album is third.

I tend to agree with this. Songs like Pussy Control and Jughead felt more like superficial pop hits than music Prince really put his whole heart into.

Not that they were bad songs exactly, but just a little too simple for a man who's created some of the most beautiful, artistic music out there.

I would put Batman at the end of that list, I just didn't care for that album at all.

Not one song really spoke to me.

That's Prince at his worst imo.
