1999-VH1's True Spin episode Another wonderful move by Prince 
From Jill Jones' site Update on the VH1 True Spin: 1999 episode: Thanks to all the fans that have been asking about the show. Unfortunatley Prince will not allow VH1 to use the song, so it's a no-go. After putting myself in Prince's mindset, I think I know why he did this:
He didn't want vh1 and others analyzing his art

Ok guys...in the past I guess I just didn't want to wrap my brain around the concept of Prince being a jerk until this past week. I've heard for many years all of these stories about him being difficult/unfair/egotistical/ect., but I would just blow it off. Not anymore. I still love Prince and will still buy his music, but I have lost so much for him within the past week that, I just can't turn a blind eye to who he really is anymore. Prince...must it be this way?  I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin. | |
