$200 for XPectation?!?!? This is the craziest auction I've seen...a CD-R of XPectation is bid up to about $200 on ebay. That's about $199 of profit for the seller, considering CD-Rs are practically free at this point. Anyone could go to the Prince newsgroup and probably nicely request that someone post the album, and it would be done for free. Oh well..

I don't recall ever seeing that. I just did a shoddy copy and paste job with the background design, and put some text on it. If this is true, could someone send me the real art template so I can spruce it up? thanks. "Knowledge is preferable to ignorance. Better by far to embrace the hard truth than a reassuring faith. Using it is just another part of the lie from the person selling this item to try to pretend their article is a genuine NPGMC CD release. ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

He did say it was a download, and he also said he printed the art. This is still ridiculous though. I wanna try and sell xpectation cds now, but unfortunately I'm not that scummy. sigh. don't worry it won't sell - he won't get his cash

Who the heck is bidding it for it?!?!?!?!
If they were that big a collector to folk out $200, they should know that this isn't official. They deserve to be shafted. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

If you have more time and the needed hardware you can make a multipage booklet with the images you get in http://www.housequake.com/ at the image gallery (2 pages/song)like this one:

Well, someone...--cough,cough--...posted the XPectation album in the alt.binaries.multimedia.prince newsgroup, so those ebay bidders can download it for free.

If any of you bidded for the CD- don't pay up. I'll copy you the CD for no price and just ask that you contribute say $10 to the LABF that Sheila E and co were backing.
(Not sure if thisis soliciting as I don't want to make money? Sorry if I've inadvertantly broken the rules) Put yourself on the worldwide org map! www.frappr.com/princeorg

You guys seem a little too interested in what others choose to spend their money on. Hoping the seller gets reported to ebay, hoping the buyer doesn't pay...what's it to you, anyway?

I dont give a fuck what others spend their money on, I'm simply commenting in a thread on a public message board - just like you did. I think that's how these things work.Someone posts something...we comment.

What's it to us? Well, when non-legit items end up on ebay, and people get taken advantage of, it sets the sites implied standards back quite a bit. If someone pays that kind of ching on a cd-r, they're probably misguided and going under the assumption that it's somehow a rare find. The seller could have done a "Buy-It-Now" for $15-$20 and not been such a greedy prick. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

You are being very presumptuous, assuming whomever bids doesn't know the story.
