old news..sort of... For all y'all wondering about the family jamm no-shows:
Morris wouldn't play because he wasn't getting payed. And what Sheila did, wasn't her just "joking around", she was genuinely pissed at him. Jesse didn't show because Morris wouldn't; he wanted to play with the original Time. He was told he could play some of his own stuff but he refused, he wouldn't play if Morris wasn't gonna be there. So there 'ya go. As for my comments on this, I'm not really surprised at Morris, but I just think it's lower than low to want to be payed for something for charity, when others are willing to take ONE night of their life to perform. Sheesh, if Wendy and Lisa, who broke up, have a somewhat strained relationship with someone they didn't know was coming or not until the actual night or Susannah, who was on the border of war with jill, or Carmen who supposedly was treated so horrible by Prince can show up and play for free, dammit, so can he. As far as Jesse, don't blame him. Prince & Jesse has valid/understandable reasons for not showing, but morris... ~KiKi

I don't think Prince's reason for not showing up - *IF* his reasons for not showing was due to the presence of the varied assortment of people who he treated like crap and is still, after all this time, too embarrassed or cowardly to face up to/apologize to - is all that "valid" a reason.
The people he allegedly wronged or hurt had the class and maturity and nads to show up someplace where a person who hurt them a lot might very well be...and I'm sure facing him might not be the most easiest or pleasant experience for them, either. Yet they did it, despite their personal feelings, so they could help raise money for children who need help. Prince couldn't manage to do that. IF Prince didn't show due to his own uncomfortableness at the situation, then I think Prince was being just as self-concerned and selfish as Morris, just in a different form. Prince might have contributed money to the charity but his being there could've raised even more awareness and cash for the charity.

Prince has issues...Prince can't deal with things the way "normal" people would. I don't fault him for that, there's a reason he's that way. And by contributing he still participated. And his reason for not showing is nowhere near the equivlent(sp?) of Morris's. He contributed money to the cause (and it wasn't chump change, believe, me). Morris didn't do a damn thing. He couldn't take his ass to a benefit for children? I personally find it digusting that his only motivation for showing was money. Yeah, that's really crazy of Morris to not show up unless he would be paid.I'm really disappointed in him.

I ran into Randy Jackson of American Idol when I flew home.
He asked what I'd been doing in LA and I told him I attended the Sheila E Benefit. He responded "Oh did Jimmy and Terry show up. They said they might attend." (Took me a second to realize he was talking about Jimmy Jamm and Terry Lewis) Anyway, who knows. Maybe it was just the bad timing. I'm not making excuses for anyone, but hey, things happen. But if Morris wanted money to perform, maybe he couldn't afford to make it to LA. Although I find that hard to believe, but who knows. Peace **************************************************
