4 years on - anyone watching the Rave DVD today?

The concert Prince's part was recorded at was 4 years ago today. I might play it in the background today, like I did with Vegas a few days ago.

I might put it on later...usually I just end up watching it from 'Purple Rain' onwards though, whenever I choose to put it on.

I don't even think I watched it through fully when I bought it, never been near the DVD player since.

Same goes for the Las Vegas ONA DVD.

I actually like this show. Wish he played more stuff from Rave ( since that was the title).

Beautiful version of P.R. The Cross (sorry hate the new name). Always in my Hair and others.

I think it james on the speakers in my room.

The music is Ok, but the styling of that show sucks as nothing else has sucked. No, sorry his D&p hairdo sucked more,... but anyway; you have silly costumes, no coherence, no nice setting. Then I rather prefer him and the band playing in their everyday clothes on a plain stage with NO silly silky pants on. Him and Lenny together was funky though.

We should nominate that close-up of lenny's wobbling ass as BUTTSHOT OF THE YEAR. I would love to put both hands tightly around thos cheecks drooling

I watch it every once in a while. Every time it goes into my DVD player though, the 1st performances I always watch are The Time's 2 numbers. I never get tired of those. And also "I Want 2 Take U Higher".
Hmmm...strange that my favorite performances from that show aren't Prince songs.

Yeah, what was up with the crazy-lightning-fast camera work?? It made me want to put on sunglasses!! Other than that, I loved "She's Always in My Hair", "The Christ" was great, and "Purple House" really rocks. Never bought the DVD because I recorded the pay per view. I gotta dig that up.

Anxiety

I don't own this DVD - I have it on tape somewhere from the pay-per-view...there's something about the Rave-era live performances that I find really depressing and lackluster.

I play it in my truck...so ppl riding behind me can view it...and it looks cool, ppl often look in through my tinted windows and point at the dvd playing RAVE!

I even got a hunk the other day from one guy who never seen it before and asked, if that was a recent prince show, and I said yeah, its year 1999 release for 2000 celebration of NewYear and he wanted to buy it, so I told him to head to FYE or Best Buy!

LOL KINDA COOL HUH

the time's performance

everything else i thought was pretty bad. kirky's playing really bothers me - the drummer should be the heart of the band and it always seemed like he was following everyone else when the band should be following the drummer.
