I always thought I could hear a vocal sample from Erotic City on "Me Myself & I" by De La Soul.

"Get yourself together : pts. 1 & 2"
Young Disciples

Credit partly given to Prince and Controversy music. Sample not known / stated.

The sample was 'gang called the disciples' from 'SOTT'

Thanks

I know I've heard a song sampling the guitar from Kiss but haven't a clue who or what it was.

2 Many DJ's

Ah yes, I know that, but what I'm thinking of wasn't some throw-away dj thing, it was a throw-away pop song by some manufactured talentless fool - it was in the UK charts a few (2 or 3?) years ago.
Lemmy, Bowie, Prince, Leonard. RIP.

Jump Around - House of Pain - scream from Gett Off

errr...NO...

heyyy! hug and yeah, the scream in "jump around" ain't from "gett off". it's another oft-used scream.

hey hug its not even a scream. its a horn blast smile

Is it the horn blast intro to The Grunt? shrug

More than Likely.. everyone sampled the grunt back then..but these cats need 2 hear mo betta instead of thinking every high pitched sample is a prince scream lol...

The 1's I can think of 'Whats Ya Phone #' by Tupac which samples '777-9311' by The Time, which Prince wrote. Tupac also sampled 'Darling Nikki' for 'Heartz Of Men' (I think) both can b found on Tupac's 'All Eyez On Me'.

Public Enemy used a Prince guitar sample in one of their hits.

What's ya #? - 2Pac samples '777-9311'

PM Dawn sampled 1999

There's another 2pac song that samples the bit at the end of Darling Nikki

I read somewhere that LL Cool J sampled 'Irresistable Bitch'

I don't know the LL Cool J song, but the other 2pac song is "Heartz of Men" that samples Darling Nikki.

If I'm not mistaken, The Macarena contained a sample from "My Name is Prince". It was Mayte's tribal type scream that you hear before the song starts.

There's also "Put The Needle On The Record" by Criminal Element Orchestra from 1987. It's actualy a pseudonym for legendary producer Arthur Baker (he was the soulsonic force behind Afrika Bambaata 'Planet Rock' and he worked with New Order a lot, then he moved to the UK and started the Elbow Rooms chain).

It uses the guitar line from Kiss and the 'Ugh'. It opens with the line "Put the needle on the record Jim when the drumbeats go like this" as also used on M/A/R/R/S 'Pump Up The Volume' the same year, although which came first someone else will have to say, 'cause I don't know.

Elements of life uses another Madhouse track as the mainframe sample for 'still holdin' on' on Oxygen Music Works, it's almost like a remix
