PRINCE mentioned in interview Greg Dulli (BELGIAN MAGAZINE)

In belgium you have this free magazine distributed through the musicstores. It's called "rif raf" and in an interview with ex-afghan-wing-singer, the subject turns to prince as Apollonia sang on his new record.
an effort to translate the bit...

RR: did she tell you any anecdotes from the purple rain-era?

GD; Ok; I'll tell you this: I was seeing her for a while and she told me she didn't want to be anybody's girl, not even prince's. They never really had anything going, but they have some undeniable bond. I even knew her through Prince. You won't correct me when I tell you he was the fucking Mozart for 10 years. He was untouchable untill he got lost up his own arse. Nobody will ever get him out of there. Well, maybe I can but he wouldn't let me because I'm no fucking jehova's witness like he is. If he would let me produce a record for him, I could make it a nr1-record. Prince writes to many songs. He's got the same problem as bop Pollard from Guiderd by Voices. And when Ryan Adams says "I've written another 500 songs" (getting excited now).. Well, Ryan Adams, I just heard your new record and you stole everything from paul Westerberg, so go fuck yourself!
RR: euhm, well...

GD: I'dd tell prince:" look man, I want eleven of your best songs. Not 12, not 13 or 9 million, no..ELEVEN. blow my fucking mind. And there's no need to fill a 74 minute-cd. For god's sake, who listens to that! Who puts on a record lasting more then 45 minutes? SOTT? Maybe and "exile on mainstr" from the Stones, or "the wall" by Pink Floyd. Nah, Prince was my hero but he's lost it.

For as far as I can tell, miss Apollonia "sexshooter" kotero is the only ex-prince protégé on the record. His new group is indeed "the twilight singers" and they just released their 2nd album "blackberry belle". Don't reaaly know afghan wings sad just by name...
