All these people and "their" ideas along with his helped to make him great. His ego won't allow him to see this. This is where the true chemistry lies---not with Larry Graham or Maceo. His music has declined without them. Until he realises this he will remain musically an artist from the past.

They don't have any problems with him, it's Prince that has the problems with W&L. Also, Bobby Z ain't too keen on talking to him after he insulted the Jewish faith a while back with Larry in tow.

I agree It makes me laugh to hear people get pissed when Prince does his own thing. Isn't it funny most of what was said in Purple Rain! It all rings true today & really every moment of Prince's career (expcept for the purple rain album) [This message was edited Fri Dec 19 1:20:57 PST 2003 by locoarts]

This was for the children. All he had to do was turn up for a couple of songs at the very end. It really doesn't matter if the stage would have been full of ex girlfriends and people he has fallen out with. He should have been a mature human being and buried the hatchett for just an hour of his precious little life. I have always loved Prince. I have always reluctantly accepted his egotistic and often completely mad business practices. I have always adored his artistry. BUT... As a human being Prince - YOU SUCK! I had such high hopes for 2004. New album, reissues, dvds, tour etc. What an amazing start the Family Jamm would have been. AND MORE IMPORTANTLY had Prince announced his appearance they would have sold out making more money for the charity. So I will say it again... As a human being Prince - YOU SUCK! Maybe Prince felt uncomfortable at the thought of being there with Wendy and Lisa?
I dunno, but he donated money, so it's not like he doesn't care for the cause. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

How do you know he was in L.A. ?
Prince has done many things for charitable causes and unlike many other stars, he doesn't demand press attention for everything he does. Now just because he doesn't show for the Family Jamm he sucks?? Whatever. ________________________________________________

I imagine if he'd turned up and did a song or 2, that wouldn't have been enough either.
Maybe when the Family Jamm charity CD comes out (pure speculation and most certainly not going to happen) he can donate a new song like he did for We are the World. Whatever he does it's never right. He can't please everyone, and maybe nowadays he's just happy to please himself.

Hey PinkPeach please actually read what I said ... I WAS NOT AT FAMILY JAMM AS I LIVE IN THE UK IMHO Prince is an idiot for not appearing at Family Jamm because it was for a good cause, organised by a friend of his, celebrating HIS music, and would have also offered a platform for reconcillation with people from his past (which is an extremely Christian thing to do). On top of that it would also have meant more tix were sold making more money for the chairty AND generated publicity reminding people that Prince exists!!! I dunno, but he donated money, so it's not like he doesn't care for the cause. Good point. Go listen to "Hello". For whatever reason, he did what he could. Hell yes, if he showed up and just sang Purle Rain, it woulda been awesome. And he SHOULD have showed up, what since the entire assemblage was a credit TO HIM. But hey. Whatever, it's no surprise that he didn't show up. It DOES suck that he was IN TOWN at the time. That's just rubbing your face in it, then, ain't it? It's not like he was in Europe or Asia or something. He was in the same town! It really would have meant a lot and sent out a very positive signal if Prince had attended.
As I said before, when you are rich donating money is the easy option, it's donating your time to a cause that means the most! 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. Completely co-sign. His choice. He financially contributed. If he wasn't comfortable attending, that's his business. And even if he didn't attend, he was there. http://elmadartista.tumblr.com/ http://twitter.com/madartista

I donated what I can afford. My concience is clear and happy. I do my part (including donating my TIME to worthy causes). Why would that make it easier to be judgemental of MY actions? The JWs wouldn't let Prince attend and stand on stage with all those ex lovers. He should have done Sheila a favor and attend the show. They would have sold a lot more tickets and the charity would have recieved more money.
