Do you feel as if your Prince collection has become apart of who you are as a person?

Prince music has always been apart of my life. The Music has been around since I was a child and I guess it eventually rub off on me, subconcisely. At first when I became a fan, I just about a couple of Prince CD's here and there, then over the yrs as my collection grew as well as my musical taste, it seems like my Prince collection has become apart of my life and apart of who I am. It's hard to imagine my life without it.

Yup, I can !!
I can't do a day without P's music.
I don't need to know all about him but I def need to hear his music every day !!
And if I wouldn't have a facination with his work as much as I did, I'd probably not been around anymore !!

Which is the reason why I guess I've been a Prince fan 4 so long. I just have a soft spot 4 Prince in my heart .

Totally relate. Prince is the biggest part of my life in that who I am now was formed in my discovery and journey with him. It is so much more than the music it is the feeling that come from it, the understanding that comes from hearing the words. Sometimes the words of another seem to work out just fine. I was seraching for answers and I when I took the time look beneath the surface of what his lyrics contained it all clicked, love, relationships, sprituality, God, the whole kit and kaboodle!

I remember reading in a Kate Bush fanzine about a fan that got told by their church that Kate made devil's music and it was all about witchcraft, so this person threw out their entire vinyl collection!! Some time later they came to their senses and started rebuilding it.
This shocked me, and I started imagining being separated from my Prince collection and deciding I would never part with it, even if I sort of go off Prince now and then, I always come back and I'm glad I never got rid of any of it.

Yes, Lisa (mmmh, it sounds like Computer Blue ). My collection is a part of my life. I'm very proud of it, and I feel like to increase it.

When I was a kid, collecting Prince was all I was about. Then it hit late 1998.

Since then I have just kept in touch with what he has released album-wise, and not much else.

It is not really a part of my day to day life anymore, but listening to Prince during many of my formative years certainly helped shape my attitudes towards art, sex, and many other topics. so while I don't listen to his stuff nearly as much as I used to, his influence will always be there.
