another lonely christmas how freaking great is this song? maybe the best b-side ever (well, next 2 she's always in my hair and irresistible bitch). it may be just me, but has anyone else noticed a passing resemblance between this song and ELO's telephone line? the way prince sings "another lonely lonely christmas" kinda reminds me of jeff lynn singing "all those lonely lonely lonely nights." when i was a kid, my sister said that ELO song sounded to her like the guy was singing from beyond the grave. come to think of it, on another lonely christmas, prince is singing to someone beyond the grave...u know, she died on the 25th day of december.
i know i've had way too much today but i'm dead on serious about this. Stand at the crossroads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths...(Jeremiah 6:16) www.ancientfaithradio.com

why this year--what happened? Well I'll say I've experienced a certain type of loss that cuts...sometimes U play what U feel reflects that pain.

the chorus bassline and guitar chords are also almost identical to "watermelon in easter hay" by frank zappa. the only real difference is that "watermelon" is in 9/8 time .. .so there's an extra note in there that obviously isn't in lonely christmas, which is in standard time. Keep your headphones on.
