Anyone go to the Family Jamm? It was an amazing show. Here is what I wrote on another forum...
OMG I just got back from the show and it was amazing. Prince didn't play but that was his loss. It was so worth it to simply see the Revolution play again. Their version of BABY IM A STAR was full tilt. The entire band and Sheilas band and everyone else joined them on stage and i got shivers. All the things Mandhouseman said were true and then some. Madhouse rocked (with the great Sheila E on drums!), The Family was great, The Time (actually they should have called it half time because Morris didn't show up-supposedly because he wanted to be payed) with Sheila playing the part of Morris, Sheilas band was amazing, and Apollonia sang very well (and she looked great too-take it from me! lol). Carmen looks like a little barbie doll but I'd eat her for dinner any day of the week. Jill looks super hot too and sounded great. I am so glad I went. So, who else went? Also, I saw cameramen on stage. Maybe they were taping it. Did anyone else notice them or was I dreaming when I wrote that. Yes I went and needless 2 say it was off tha hook! Yes it was absoutely Prince's loss but I didn't pay 2 see him so I wasn't dissapointed. Madhouse rocked,Jill Jones was stunning and for me the biggest joy of the evening was seeing The Family perform. Everybody looked really happy 2 see each other. Shame on Morris for not showing up but Sheila clowned him big time. Apples looked sooo hot with that sequined skirt. The Revolution was fantabulous after 17 years of not playing 2gether. It was one memorable evening and I was very pleased 2 see old friends reunite.
Peace! | |

Damn right! There is talk about another Revolution reunion in January. This might become a longer term gig! Lets hope it lights a fire under Prince's ass.
The Family was great! I agree. And seeing Madhouse! Worth the price of the ticket. Did you see cameras onstage and in the crowd or was it my imagination? the official GIRLY GIRL of the Lesbian wing of the Prince.org. Accept no substitutes!!!

So did Prince attend? i know he didn't play, but if he was there and didn't play, that's disappointing.
Also who did the vocals for the Revolution in his absence? or did they play instrumentals? How many people were there? i heard the ticket sales were relatively poor. Not that it matters, hope you had a good time Bsunshine, i'm very jealous!

Prince was not even in da house. Oh well. his loss.
Wendy did the lead vocals. Ticket sales were not what they should have been, but that was an advertizing thing, not a reflection on the show. The weak points were Chaka, who walked thru her performance, and Patty Labelle who was just plain annoying. She didn't even know the lyrics of the song she was doing. I don't consider them to be part of the "Prince camp" because they were performers outside of Paisley Park. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE associated with Paisley did a freakin' great job. Next year should rock! the official GIRLY GIRL of the Lesbian wing of the Prince.org. Accept no substitutes!!!
