But I prefer the second and third cd ... Curious Child is beautiful. Strange, short, and with beautiful haunting lyrics. Now THAT'S Prince. I'd say the best songs on there are: In This Bed Eye Scream Soul Sanctuary Curious Child Holy River Lets Have a Baby New World Human Body One of Us The Love We Make (awesome!!) All the rest I could do without. *putting on The Love We Make* [This message was edited Sat Dec 13 16:07:49 PST 2003 by Nep2nes]

But then again, my Prince cd's arent getting that much rotation anymore. Perhaps I'm getting old, but I'm just not listening to music that much anymore. Then again, I'm NOT old...maybe I'm just not obsessed like I used to be. I'm with you on that. I don't have/take time to listen to a lot of music these days so Emancipation doesn't get much play. Maybe once a year.

blackboab said: the only prince album that i never feel like listening to is emancipation. i dont know what it is about the album, i mean the songs are mostly ok, some are sub standard but on the whole it's not a bad collection of songs. maybe its just too damn big. maybe it's the sleek production on the album the puts me off. i just don't know.
u need 2 go back 2 school. emancipation is stacked. Stand at the crossroads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths...(Jeremiah 6:16) www.ancientfaithradio.com

Because you've already put all your screwdrivers into your ass sideways, licked your cat's butt twice, made wild passionate love to a tree sloth, watched Ghost Dad, donated money to Dubya's election campaign, etc. and need a new form of self-torture?
If so, then you'd find few more efficient methods of hurting yourself than giving Emancipation a spin. Wait, no, put it on at a party. The ridicule tossed at you will scar you for life!!! "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"

I actually quite enjoy Emancipation, although I'd rather have heard a much rawer, less over-produced version. Still, with gems like 'In This Bed Eye Scream', 'Curious Child/Dreamin About U', Joint 2 Joint', Friend, Lover, Sister, Mother/Wife', 'My Computer', 'The Love We Make' and the title track, I still think it's pretty good.

But I prefer the second and third cd ... The riff from that's been ripped off by bland Scottish rockers Travis on their new album. "You know, you're the classic example of the inverse ratio between the size of the mouth and the size of the brain"
