What does the song "Schoolyard" sound like??!!! I have always heard of this song but have never actually heard it.

The lyrics are amusing but the music is synthetic, plastic shite.

imho it starts off quite promosing then falls apart half-way through.
It gets kinda worse from there. Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

has a kinda funky beat that goes off and on again. Like um ... that first part on "All My Love" by Luther Vandross if anything.
Prince kinda talks the song out not really singing, but it is a funny song, but can be boring at times. Rosie sings the background chorus. its aiight Straight Jacket Funk Affair

It isn't his best song, but it is fun because of the lyrics. It is certainly worth tracking down.

It doesnt sound like any other song he's done.
This song grows on you. At first i hated it due to the awkward instrumentals but the lyrics make up for it! Its worth it, sometimes its nice to hear the rawer unpolished Prince. | |

It's an average song...nothing special or unique.Just a simple funk groove that he threw together.I don't think it belongs on the 'D&P' album,but it should re-surface on some type of future bootleg compilation (Crystal Ball II?). | |

The drums are as described by previous posters, but the keys are real familiar, kinda flat and short, almost like a hot thing groove. Pretty quik tempo, I really dig it. I think its a pretty cool track. The lyrics are different, weed, sex and women. If you have a chance to hear it do so. Form your own opinion. | |
